Let It Be

This song from The Beetles has a special resonance for me on many levels. On New Year’s Eve, 1969, Marianne and I listened to a countdown of the top 100 songs of the decade. Number 1 was … “Let It Be.” Many of my poems contain the phrase “Let it be”. When I was visiting friends many years later, in the guest room a song was playing …… “Let It Be.” Especially now at a time of darkness, I resonate to the words, “There will be an answer, let it be.”
